に金子 揚先生の紹介と彼のコメントが以下の如く掲載されました．
Another first-time international winner is Yo Kaneko, MD (Fig 5). Dr Kaneko graduated Gifu University School of Medicine in 2003 and served there as a resident in radiology until 2005, when he joined the staff at the Gifu Prefectural Hospital. In 2007, he moved to Gifu Central Hospital and was named chief of the PET Center. Since 2011, he has served as chief of staff in the Radiology Department at Kizawa Memorial Hospital. On learning of his award, Dr Kaneko noted, "I still cannot believe this is true. I did not join this contest thinking of myself as a contender; winning was just a far-off dream, or so I thought. This time by chance, I was fortunate to see cases that were already familiar to me. I can only say that I was extremely lucky. I hope it is not so, but I feel that I must have expended a lifetime's worth of luck this time. Anyway, if there is one factor I would blame my winning on, I would say this is because my policy is to never stop learning. I wish to thank my colleagues at Kizawa Memorial Hospital, and of course, Masayuki Kanematsu from Gifu University Hospital who has been my mentor the whole way".
邦訳：もうひとかた今年初めて国際受賞されたのが，金子先生です．彼は2003年に岐阜大学医学部を卒業され，2005年まで研修を受けられた後，岐阜県総合医療センターに赴任されました．2007年には岐阜中央病院PETセンター長に就任されました．2011年からは木沢記念病院放射線科医長として赴任され今日に至ります．今回の受賞に際して金子先生のコメントを以下にご紹介致します．「未だ現実なのか信じられません．当初，私は読影力を競うつもりなどなく参加しました．今回の受賞は全くもって夢のようです．今回は偶然，自身が経験したことのある疾患が問題として掲載されたのでとても幸運だったとしか思えません．そう思いたくはありませんが，人生の運を使い果たしたような気分です．ともあれ，もしひとつだけ受賞の理由があったとすれば，それは絶えず学び続けたいと思ってきたことだと思います．木沢記念病院の同僚には感謝の気持ちでいっぱいです．また，これまで御指導頂いた岐阜大学の兼松雅之先生に感謝致します．」
